RBQ

As stated in the Building Act, the mission of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec is "to ensure proper quality of construction work and the safety of the public who have access to a building or facilities intended for use by the public or who use installations independent of a building."

Since the Régie was first established in 1992, this mission has not changed. The approach, however, has. The Régie is currently re-engineering the laws and regulations it enforces by implementing the Building Code and Safety Code, as required under the Building Act, which is administered by the Régie.

The purpose of this act is to implement a single basic standard for all buildings and equipment in Québec.
